Registration for the 2009–2010 season of the Squaw Valley Freestyle / Freeride Team has begun. We have attached the registration forms on the website, please register ASAP and reserve your spot on the team now!

We had a great season last year and want to continue the success. With the addition of more and more Freeride, Mogul, and Big Mountain events, as well as hosting U.S. Freestyle Nationals, it seems like our team is constantly hosting events throughout the season. In Order to make all these events and our team a success, and continue to help our sport grow, your volunteer help is needed next season more than ever.

The season is scheduled to start December 12, 2009 and run through April 11, 2010. Though the team fees will NOT go up in price next season, we are implementing a new volunteer program for our team. All team families will be required to pay a $200.00 mandatory volunteer surcharge upon registration. All athlete families registered with the freestyle team are responsible to volunteer 10 hrs of their time to the freestyle team during the season in order to receive a return on your $200.00 volunteer surcharge. If you volunteer your time, you will get your money back.

This is an attempt to increase family involvement in our team as well as help generate the funds we need to help keep our non profit foundation alive. As a result of our new volunteer commitment program Squawfree will NOT require athletes to sell our annual raffle tickets next season. Thank you for your support in helping make the 2009-2010 season the best year yet!

Here is how the volunteer commitment surcharge works:

1. Along with your registration fee’s, all families are required to pay a $200.00 volunteer surcharge (per child) and sign a Volunteer commitment form.
2. Each family will be required to volunteer 10 hrs of service to the team. (i.e. help out with competition day duties, course building, clothing sales, banquet setup, Bbq, nationals….). Those families with more than one child on the team will be required to volunteer and addition 5 hours per child on the team. All Hrs must be signed off by a team representative.
*athletes old enough are eligible to work off the volunteer hrs.
3. There will be a sign-up for various volunteer positions available at the opening season party in November and throughout the season.
4. Once you have volunteered your time and services, and had all hrs recorded and submitted then signed off by a team representative, the team will RETURN your $200.00 surcharge in-full at the end of the season.

*If you choose not to volunteer to help the team, you will NOT receive the $200.00 volunteer sur-charges back.
