SQUAWFREE | 2013 -2014 SEASON
"Invest in Success"!
The Squaw Valley Freestyle Team is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Foundation. As a Non-Profit Foundation our main objective is to provide kids and young adults with support systems. Given the resources from where we live, our support systems naturally revolve around Skiing. Although our focus is to develop world class athletes, they all learn much more than that. Athletes on the Squaw Valley Freestyle team are challenging themselves everyday in sport and in life. They are imagining goals and working hard to achieving those goals. As the Squaw Valley Freestyle team we are supporting their goals by providing these kids with progressive coaching at a world-class resort in a fun and safe manor. Our “SquawFree” coaches provide expert and enthusiastic coaching in a safe environment to our registered youth participants Our Team focuses on 4 different disciplines of Freestyle skiing: Moguls, Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Mountain Freeskiing. We strive on having world-class training venues for our athletes. We are a full time, year around, team. Not only are we training and Competing in the winter and spring months, but we are also training all summer and fall as well. In the off season the team trains on the Water Ramps in Park City Utah, and travels to various other sites like Whistler B.C. and Mt. Hood, OR. to hold Ski Camps throughout the summer. In the winter our team travels to almost all main International and National Competitions. The Squaw Valley Freestyle Team is a constant and noticeable presence at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Boreal resort, we have training courses and competitions all year to help athletes succeed and reach their goals. As a team, we have produced Jr. National and National Champions, World Cup Champions, X-Games Athletes, Olympians, and Olympic Champions, but most of all we have provided kids with great memories, and the love of skiing and the outdoors.
We are very proud to announce our Scholarship program again this year. This scholarship, awarded to local students, provides opportunities for youths who may not otherwise get a chance to participate in our program. This year we are again providing 8 scholarships, representing approximately 8% of our enrollment of total athletes. We our very excited about our scholarship program and feel it’s a great way to reach back to the local community. The 8 scholarships are for local athletes who are looking to advance their skiing knowledge and abilities. The scholarship winners receive full time SquawFree team membership and a Gold season pass to Squaw Valley/ Alpine meadows (a value of over $3500.00 for each scholarship winner).
We rely primarily on registration fees to support the program and supplement our proceeds mostly through various fundraising events and sponsor donations, along with some sales of team merchandise. Please support The Squaw Valley Freestyle Team and help out our local youths today! Donors will receive a donation receipt form our non-profit for your tax benefits.
Thank you for supporting our program.
