"Invest in Success"!
Help SquawFree reach our goal of building a summer ramp into The BagJump!
This day in age freestyle skiing and freeskiing have reached a point of extremity in terms of the dangerous tricks being performed. For athletes to perform these maneuvers safely and stay competitive, they need top-notch training facilities along with top-notch coaching. The athletes from SquawFree spend thousands of dollars every summer to travel to Oregon, Whistler or Park City to experience such training facilities for a very limited amount of time. While there, they almost always share these facilities with another program who's home base is located there.
Our athletes usually have about a week to learn and qualify new jumps on the water ramps. Sometimes in this timeframe, these tricks prove to be very difficult and unsafe to achieve. If we could keep our athletes here in Squaw they would be able to get ten times the amount of training for half the price, train safely throughout the summer, and would be able to save money to travel during the winter season to compete nationally. According to the USSA rule book we (SquawFree aerial level II & III coaches) are able to qualify our athlete's jumps on the BagJump now due to BagJump's going popularity. This could possibly make costly water ramp training obsolete for SquawFree. It would keep our investments right here in Squaw Valley.
